Orange set to turn mobiles into multimedia players with 512-megabyte

Orange will add more zing to your mobiles by introducing SIM cards with up to 8,000 times more data storage capacity than the existing ones.

The new 512-megabyte "MegaSIM" cards, produced in alliance with M-systems, Oberthur Card Systems and LG Electronics, can amass up to 130 songs, three movies or 80 games.

"The SIM will... remove the need for clumsy additional card slots that are required today to provide storage in multimedia handsets," the firm said in a statement.
