Walk, Walk, Walk and charge your cell phone!

Pankaj from Himachal Pradesh, India, a youngster aging only 19 years and the last year winner of foremost prize in the student category from the National Innovation Foundation, has come up with a pair of shoes fitted with a system that is capable of charging a cell phone while on the roads.

Equipped with a simple mechanism, the cell phone charger features a dynamo attached to the shoe, which transfers the mechanical energy produced by the pressure of the foot on the sole into electrical energy and a viaduct rectifier further changes the AC current into DC current to produces about six volts of energy.
Maybe the invention needs a bit up gradation; still it is a laudable work by the youngster.
