It’s difficult really to think of a concrete role for a stretchable OLED display, unless the Japanese developers intend to use it as a cornerstone for some stunning future doodad. Apparently, it is just an OLED display that can be stretched to the limits and it is said that the focus would be to develop spherical objects out of it. These objects could be compressed a number of times without compromising the resolution quality. There are no color options other than the obvious monochrome graphics at the moment and these are relayed at a modest resolution of 256 pixels. If the purpose is to develop a human shaped display for medical diagnostics, sadly the scope is bleak.
