OCZ Technology has announced a new 850-watt SLI-Ready Power Supply to high-end systems.

The launch has been made just in time for NVIDIA’s upcoming G80 GeForce 8800GTX product launch.

OCZ technology claims that their 850 watt power supply is virtually silent as they have integrated a 120mm fan to keep the heat and the noise down to a minimum.

OCZ has commented that ‘A new generation of gaming systems is emerging with the lion share of the power being drawn by the graphics system,’ commented Dr. Michael Schuette, VP of Technology Development at OCZ Technology. ‘Quad SLI and high-end CrossFire™ solutions are pushing up to 500W of power consumption which exceeds the capabilities of any conventional high-end power supply. Moreover, by the end of the year we will see PC games specifically developed for quad core CPUs. OCZ’s answer is the new GameXStream top model with 850W output to make sure that even the most hungry systems get the power they need under the most demanding conditions.’

The system will be available for more than $200 but the exact price is not yet disclosed by OCZ.
