If the rumors are to be believed, NVIDIA is going to announce the x86 chip, which was doing the rounds on websites earlier too. Though the research team at NVIDIA has the ability to create awesome chips, they do not have the permission to commercialize their research. The problem is that x86 players, Intel and AMD both have a lock on the technology, and unless they decide to be extra generous, there's little hope for anyone else there. So in reality, the x86 by NVIDIA may not see the light of the day. This being the case, with all the legal implications, we may actually stop waiting for the chip to come in. So we may have to stay content with existing NVIDIA chips such as the GeForce and others.
