NVIDIA launches what it claims the world’s fastest notebook Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), GeForce GTX 580M. The improved GPU is powerful to run advanced game titles at 1080p in 3D that makes it a wonderful option for hardcore gaming lovers. The new NVIDIA GPU will be highlighted in Dell’s Alienware gaming laptop version M18x and impending M17x. The GPU offers 384 CUDA cores with a CPU clocking at 1240MHz. Moreover, it will avail up to 2GB GDDR5 memory with a processor that clocks at 1500MHz.

As a result, the new GPU card will make gaming notebooks more compatible for the popular DirectX 11-enabled games like Call of Duty: Black Ops. Gaming will certainly be a smooth experience on a system that features GTX 580M GPU, says NVIDIA, the global leader in GPU and chipset technologies.
Major features of GTX 580M include supportability of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology and 3DTV Play software. The first feature puts an option to automatically convert 2D contents to 3D. Games and movies can thus be converted to 3D. The second feature is meant to link 3D vision-based notebooks with 3D televisions for enhanced gaming experience.
The GPU card further highlights features such as NVIDIA CUDA architecture, NVIDIA SLI and NVIDIA PhysX engine. All the features will turn the card further capable for advanced gaming. One another incredible feature is NVIDIA Optimus, which will reduce power consumption. The feature is expected to provide five-hour battery life for the upcoming Alienware M17x gaming notebook.
