NuVinci: Pedal-electric hybrids to hit you soon

Fallbrook Technologies has developed NuVinci, an innovative extremely flexible and scalable variation on the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) that is based on the attribution by the great Leonardo da Vinci, 500 years ago.

Assuring a reasonable as well as useful CVT for both human-powered and automatic vehicles and machines, NuVinci CVP(continuously variable planetary) is appropriate to any product that uses a transmission including bicycles, light electric vehicles, agricultural equipment, automobiles and utility wind turbines as well.

Currie Technologies, a well-known electric-powered vehicle manufacturer, are the first users of the new technology in a hybrid electric bicycles and electric scooters, combining the NuVinci CVP with the Currie Electro-Drive drive structure.

By the end of the year, the first product (pedal-electric hybrid bicycle) featuring hot-tech will be available in the market.
