Nokia’s Windows-based phones will run Mango, but not before 2012
The long awaited Nokia -Microsoft tie that promises Windows-based Nokia phones will take almost a year more to reap fruits. According to Nokia India’s MD D. Shivakuma, Nokia’s first Windows Phone will not arrive anytime before the beginning of next year. It is reported that Nokia has set a 12 month timeline to deliver the first Windows-powered phone we are all so anxiously awaiting, but mind you, this won’t be another Windows Phone 7 device, instead it’ll be a phone running Mango (codename) – the next version of WP7 platform. One reason for the delay in Nokia’s handset could be the delay in Mango’s launch (slated for 2012), which we think is pushing the phone further back for 2012, but then this isn’t going to stop the flurry of Symbian-based phones from Nokia in 2011.
