Japanese automaker Nissan recently demonstrated a safety system for it’s cars that will not just alert drivers of the obstacles in blind spots but would be intelligent enough to take the corrective action on it’s own either by steering the vehicle away or by locking it’s brakes; depending on the scenario. Statistics reveal most of the accidents occur while handling the vehicles in reverse gear that often result into collisions at the rear side or more specifically the corner opposite to the driver in the rear side of the vehicle. These two spots often remain unseen even by the skilled drivers which is why they are called as the ‘blind spots’. The new system will alert the driver by slightly vibrating the brakes or by deterring the driver to change the lanes if it’s sensors trace another vehicle zooming into it’s vicinity.

However, it should be noted that this system won’t drive cars on it’s own. It’s purpose is to intimate the driver of the danger and suggest a solution which may or may not be accepted by the driver. The drivers are free to override these suggestions and just drag the car towards the danger! With this system installed, Nissan authorities are confident to nullify accidents with their vehicles in near future.
