No, this is not a scuba tank from outer space. Started as a project by Copenhagen-based modder Martin Nielsen, a.k.a Angel OD, this modified Nintendo Wii called the Wii UNLimited Edition is going to blow your mind away! Back in December 2009, Angel OD started playing around with the idea of having a wall-mounted Wii that was also water-cooled. The stock Wii console was dismantled and the drive was taken out of its shell. A new case has been built for the drive with some sleek Wii logos on the side. The case is attached to two very cool reservoir tubes on the side. The tubes are 220mm high and are topped by sleek aluminum covers which are about 70mm in diameter. The left reservoir has a water pump at the bottom and a digital temperature gauge at the top. Angel OD has used a blue cooling liquid in the pumps – it looks hot! The entire design has been planned and executed by Angel OD himself. After a lot of designing, cutting, creating, milling, painting and fixing, the mod has come to life and has taken the world of console modders by a storm.

One, Angel OD always wanted a wall mounted Wii. Two, he wanted to do a mod that no one had tried – water cooling on a Nintedo Wii. Many Nintendo users have reported that the Nintendo Wii can get heated up to 110 degree Fahrenheit even when idle. Even the discs can get hot. As gaming goes on, the console is only going to get hotter. The Nintendo Wii has not faced any heat related issues yet. But overheating may reduce life of your favorite console. You could argue whether there should be a wall-mounted, water-cooled Nintendo Wii. But then again, why shouldn’t there be one? It looks sexy and keeps your Wii nice and cool. Game on!
