NexNav: A navigation sensor device for flight-safety management
Bangalore-based Accord Software and Systems in collaboration with Spectralux Corporation, has developed a new kind of sensor device, dubbed as NexNax. It is based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies. The senor device is highly useful to develop a strong safety and security system for all kinds of flights.

The NexNav is basically an airborne GPS device. It receives satellite signals and generates crucial information regarding position, velocity and time. Thus, it can be used as a navigation sensor unit in all kinds of aircrafts to ensure safety and security to air travelers both in-flight and on the ground.
J.M. Sundaresan, CEO at Accord Software and Systems elaborates,
The product has been engineered to stringent performance and environmental specifications. It can be used as a primary sensor for navigation and landing during various phases of flight. A NexNav-equipped aircraft can avoid collision both in flight and on the ground.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in USA has certified the sensor device which will be sold at around $7000. The company is planning to sell some 25,000 units in the next five years.
