Liquid Crystal equipped rubber suit for workers exposed to harmful chemicals
Pollsters from the University of Colorado and Brian Elliot of TDA Research Inc. under Douglas Gin are working on a comfy, compact shielding suit, which joins together the rubber with liquid crystals to obstruct harmful chemicals while letting sweat to go through, for people working in chemical industries or mines as well as emergency workers.

The liquid-crystal molecule, in comparison to heavier molecules of toxic chemicals, generates petite particles when combined with rubber that easily pass even through the small openings and impedes chemicals more efficiently than ordinary butyl rubber.
The new technology will not only help producing protective suits but be functional for cleaning unhygienic water and taking out the salinity of seawater as well.
