Posted By: Vikas Shekhawat | Feb 4 2006

Seem like NEC UK doesn't want to give laptop burglars a chance. The new NEC Versa S950 is loaded with an array of anti-theft mechanisms such as the standard Kensington lock mechanism, a fingerprint security mechanism, a Kensington anti-theft cable, a TPM chip, and a Stoptrack anti-theft protection label and NEC's Safeboot software. The 2 kg notebook runs on Intel Centrino processor, supports DDR2 533MHz SDRAM, Bluetooth, V.92 modem, USB 2.0, FireWire, and InfraRed. It sports a 14" display, connects through an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG (802.11 b/g) and Gigabit LAN. With a battery life of 6 hours it also gives you a choice of dual-layer DVD writer. Prices in UK start from £699.
