Sources in the Prime View International (the makers of the Kindle's electrophoretic display) state that a new e-book Kindle would be made available with an increased screen size and added touch functions by the end of the year. With the rumors gaining momentum we expect the Amazon Kindle 3 to make inroads into the educational markets with its larger form factor and a touchscreen. Unlike the Kindle 2 e-book reader, which is a 6-inch electronic paper display with 600x800 resolution and 2GB of memory, the new rumored e-book could be an 8.5 x 11-inch touchscreen reader, i.e. of a standard paper size.
