New door-opening technique does away with keys, codes and fingerprint recognition

The lock is perhaps one of the most potent symbols of human civilization with its inherent power to deny access to unauthorized personnel, thus creating a powerful social hierarchy. Thousands of millions are pumped into getting security for homes and offices each year and it has only made our lives more complicated with dozens of keys, codes and special unlocking technologies. A Japanese firm, however, has come up with a very simple solution to such hassles by coming up with a key-less door opening technique. Apparently this technology will allow people to use human contact as key. The catch is though, that you will still need to have a keycard on you, but you don’t need to take it out of your wallet as the e-signal will channel through your body and “as data travels through the user’s clothing, handbag or shoes, anyone carrying a special card can unlock the door simply by touching the knob or standing on a particular spot without taking the card out.” I like the idea of not having to worry about forgetting keys, but I am a little apprehensive about how easy it will make for someone to siphon off your keycard and open all kinda of locks! There has definitely got to be more to this technology right?
