The way researchers are polishing the snags hovering over battery lives of portable devices, a revolution is indeed not for away. Moving a step further on this front, major manufacturers including Qualcomm are in the process of giving final shape to battery friendly, self-illuminating cell phone screens that sucks in less power.



The new screens in fact take energy from sun or embedded liquids right inside them. The liquid-filled screens eliminate the use of backlight ultimately saving lot of energy. One of such screen dubbed as ‘iMod’ automatically display images through visible sunlight and in-built electronics for even distribution. Even ‘electrowetting technology’ has made groundbreaking foray into the creation of such battery-friendly displays.
