
Netflix is all set to launch their set-top box merging along with LG electronics, which allows the subscribers to watch movies directly from Internet to their TV’s. Netflix, presently boasts of 7 million subscribers who are longing to use this interesting feature.
A premier leader of providing DVD rental service, Netflix is supposed to launch this set-top box by the mid 2008. The price range of this box will be ranging between $4.99 to about $16.99 a month, all inclusive of rates. Sources say that Netflix has a whooping 90,000 titles through the mail order service. Another reliable source says, LG will try to engraft the subscriber into its exciting dual-DVD player, affirming the Blu-ray and HD-DVD high-definition DVD formats at a price of $799.
There is an increasing demand of the Web video viewers, a company that offers set-top box with this feature offers the service for $399 that lets the subscribers choose from the 5,000 titles that it has.
Apple Inc, which is also in this division has failed to gather a significant amount of people whereas TiVo partnering with Amazon.com Inc offers great movie collection. On the other hand, Wal-Mart Stores Inc lately called off its online video download service.
There are many other big companies lined to provide the similar services due to high prospects.
