NEC, Sony and Toshiba join hands to develop 45nm LSI Chips Technology

NEC Electronics have teamed up with Sony and Toshiba to jointly research on 45 nanometer LSI (Large Scale Integration) Chips Technology aimed at upgrading the currently used 90nm chips and further improve on high-speed data processing, lower power consumption and chip compactness. But products with 45nm, such as LCD TVs, mobile phones and other consumer electronics will not appear before 2008.
