NEC lifts the curtain off World’s brightest LED based projector

Living in 2010 seems to be the best thing. Everyday we are treated with some or the other innovation and development in the field of technology. And, that is exactly what we got, another treat in form of a LED based projector from NEC display solutions Ltd. that is claimed to be the world’s brightest. With brightness as high as 2,000lm, it was displayed at InfoComm 2010. It uses RGB colored LEDs as a light source and further multiple LED units are used for each of the three colors. With a wide color range, it is capable of displaying 98% of color range, which is defined in Adobe RGB standard. With the curtain lifted off this creation, the technology that has gone into making this still remains a secret. And, there are no plans yet to commercialize the projector, but the company intends to increase the brightness to 3,000-4,000lm.
