
NEC has just found a way to be in the news, and the simplest way to do so, keep impressing the likes of us with all the new technologies and gadgets. Just yesterday we saw NEC’s retinal-display eyeglasses for real-time language translation and today the manufacturer’s out with the world’s first smallest WiMAX router with wireless LAN support – again an delightful introduction.
Dubbed as the Aterm WM3300R, the router includes Wireless LAN (BG), along with Multi SSID functions and basic Wireless LAN Security protocols like WEP and WPA(TKIP/AES). Measuring really small at 94mm x 67mm x 22mm, the device has a USB port via which it can be hocked to the PCs etc. Slated for a November debut in Japan, the WM3300R router will cost about $272, 25,000 Yen i.e.
