The NASA engineers have been working on Robotics to help improve their understanding and ability to maneuver on and in space-like conditions. They have been testing their hardware on terrain at Moses Lake, Washington. Several tests were run including a 12-wheeled robotic transport and a six-legged all-terrain vehicle that can carry massive payloads. They also tested an autonomous drilling rover and a mapping robot. This really puts a pressure on NASA to produce something that will actually help the space-divers in the futures missions. NASA is also trying to reach out to the public in an attempt to build better relations and include them in their work.
I think this is a great step for NASA because the more money we pour into something like this, the better the outcome. In the future these devices will help us with our work in examining other planets and understanding their, and possibly our, past.
