Project Constellation is a part of NASA’s concerted effort to revitalize the space mission and to give the endeavor a boost, the space agency commissioned a worldwide selection of design firms to create a special outfit costing over two hundred million dollars. The team, who gathered under the contracting banner of Oceaneering International Inc, includes firms like United Space Alliance and the David Clarke Company, together have been trusted to plan an all-season suit that can handle conditions from launch stresses to extra-vehicular activity and even “off-nominal” situations like depressurization. The gear will basically feature multiple configurations with pieces of the standard space suit being replaced with customized extras. With the space agency gaining momentum in its recent missions to mars, we’re hoping that this swanky new suit gets a grand debut soon when they put a man on the moon again!
