MyLifeBits: Recording life in bits and bytes

Perhaps, we can call it an effort to become immortal where 71-year-old Gordon Bell is digitally recording every moment of his life. The American computer scientists is actually participating in Microsoft's research project, 'MyLifeBits', recording his heartbeats, people he meet and every other movement via a global positioning system device, an audio recorder and a small camera.

The five-year-old project has already memorized about 30,000 pictures, thousands of phone calls and e-mails, scanned documents and personal stuff.
To record 80 years of memories you need around one terabyte of computer memory and Bell hopes that the coming generation will definitely follow suit.
