After all the interactive displays we’ve seen in our age, it’s time now to give way to a multitouch floor display by professor Patrick Baudisch and his team. Designed under human-computer interaction program, the floor display is a whole new experience for just everyone irrespective of how long you’ve been using the interactive displays in tabletops et al. Conceived as a new interface venture for computer displays, the floor display built with high-resolution multitouch back-projected floor works by identifying pressure.

The display recognizes an active user’s shoe sole, so that it could ignore all inactive users and focus mainly on the known users who interact with the floor display with their feet in utmost precision. The floor display also allows high-precision interaction to let users type on a QWERTY keyboard using their feet. Follow the jump to see a video demonstration of how you can use the floor display.
