navjack

Yes, that headline is bang on. Oneill, the sports and fashion wear maker has just unveiled a brand new ultra cool concept called the NavJack. Now, we all know O’neill makes some chic fashion wear but what is so bling with the NavJack? This sport’s jacket aimed primarily at the skiing and snowboarding crowd has a built in GPS module in it. So wherever you go, skiing or snowboarding, you won’t get lost if you are wearing this uber-bling piece of clothing. Obviously, you don’t want to keep looking at the GPS when you are hurtling towards the next halfpipe, so O’neill has just thrown in an audio device inside the hood of the NavJack which gives you audio instructions and to supplement all this, there is a visual LED integrated display which sits very neatly on the NavJack’s sleeve. Pushing the envelope even further, the NavJack can even tell you your skiing speed, miles logged and weather conditions. And here is the clincher. You could actually plug in your cell phone into the jacket and track your buddies with the friend finder system. And, before you jump off to hook on to O’neill’s website to order one of these, hold your horses, this very hot piece of kit is currently doing testing duty in the swiss alps, in treacherous conditions which means it maybe will hit the market in fall, 2008. But, it is still a big MAYBE. Let’s hope the NavJack makes it to stores very soon, for, it will be just as cool to wear this piece of bling-kit on the city streets as it will be to go snowboarding with.
