Motorola works on a Gingerbread-based dual-core enterprise tablet

Leading technology builder Motorola seems to be planning to make a highly capable Google Gingerbread-based enterprise tablet, according to a report on Engadget. It is certain that Motorola has been vying to become a key enterprise product manufacturer for a couple of years. Of course, the success of the Motorola Xoom, a dual-core consumer tablet based on Google Honeycomb, might have induced Motorola to get more involved in the enterprise market also.

Engadget owes to an anonymous tipster for passing the details about Motorola’s forthcoming project. He called the upcoming Motorola enterprise tablet as a “physical embodiment defining Android for the Enterprise.” According to the report, Motorola will bring out beta version of the still-unnamed enterprise tablet in the fall this year. Certainly, the Google Android platform, which is mainly competing with Apple iOS, is yet to get enough well-built enterprise tablets.

The projected Motorola tablet is supposed to highlight a dual-core 1GHz OMAP 4 CPU, 1GB RAM and 8GB NAND. The device may have a 7-inch LCD display with all typical tablet features like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and USB ports. The device may have 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting and an 8 megapixel rear camera with the facility to scan barcodes. The Motorola enterprise tablet will be physically equipped with the capability to withstand rough conditions in workplaces.
