At the first glance it seemed to me that sculptor Bruce Gray is a great fan of Nicolas Cage. His metal sculpture tagged Motorcycle #1 looks just like a bike made on Ghost Rider’s order. A closer inspection though reveals that the bike is supposed to be as retro as futuristic. The LA-based sculptor has made this monstrous bike in heavy-duty industrial steel. Each and every part is composed of monolith industrial parts. So Motorcycle #1 has wheels of massive railroad equipment gears, seat of train coupling, shockers of train springs and an oversize chain. The engine – normal BMW R75/5 motorcycle engine – does restore a sense of normalcy.
Now remember this is not a designer mod or something, it is an Art Sculpture. So quite obviously, this thing is not actually rideable even though it looks like it would be. But that does not mean it isn’t for sale either. Motorbike #1 can be yours for a cool $25,000. Don’t loose your heart though, Gray sells smaller replicas at $200.
Lugging it to your home would be a problem since it weighs in at 800 pounds. And just between you and me, Bruce Gray is planning to deliver a rideable version of this industrial bike sculpture real soon.
