It has been witnessed many times that certain inventions have done more harm than good. Though the inventors may never have though the way these things would be misused. Now, I am not talking about an eggbeater or a rolling pin but the things that have changed history. The invention we have here is motion sensors that can detect and discern human beings, animals and even vehicles.
A company in Israel, Sonic Lynx, has developed these underground sensors, which would soon be installed by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF). It uses a unique technique that uses seismic and acoustic fluctuations. These sensors are strong enough to detect things in motion almost 200 meters away. It can be carried by soldiers, and will give them ample time, about 20 seconds, to decide and act fast.
The sensors, which are still undergoing tests, are in demand already. Even some US airports are also in the pipeline to get through a deal with Sonic Lynx. Is it the beginning of a digital crusade? However, these sensors prove to be a boon or a curse, only the future would show us.
