Morrisey's computerised system for plant supervision

Posted By: Zodingliani Chinzah | Apr 7 2006

A Research team led by Anthony Morrissey of the Tyndall National Institute in Cork have invented a way for plants to talk to humans. By using an infrared camera it manages the health of the plant by scanning the entire crop to detect if it is overheated while another detects chlorophyll fluorescence revealing the rate of photosynthesis and then taking remedial steps by controlling the level of water, nutrients and pesticides as directed by the main software.
