It is not everyday that you get to play chess with robots. Developed by Steve Hassenplug, Monster chess is a super big robotic game, which has been made, so that you can play against the computer. Each piece of the chess set has its own robot, which is like having a robotic army before the apocalypse. Packing in 100,000 elements, the game also has 38 separate NXTs that needs to be controlled, commanded and communicated with. The chequered board is based on the large Lego baseplates, which makes the army to be 12 on each side. With Ron McRae doing lots of work on PC for this, you can input human moves and control the robots with the help of a laptop running chess software. It makes everything work pretty smoothly.

Incase you start to have some battery issues, you can change the pieces and modify them with different bodies. So, this means that the robot bases lying underneath are really interchangeable. Made by John Brost, the body designs are quite iconic and that too made with the least possible parts. I know, a video of this thing is not enough to satisfy you, so if you are willing to go an extra mile then you can go to Brickworld and enjoy it to the fullest.
