I was never really good at Table Tennis. But the rest of my family was like just one short of an Olympic gold in the sport. And since only four could play at a time, game time often resulted in broken noses, broken furniture and occasionally, a TT ball stuffed in someone’s face! Keeping the craze of the sport in mind, developer Guenter Arndt has come up with an innovative new table that will allow teams of three people to play simultaneously on a circular table. Named the Table Tennis Triples, the Modular Table Tennis System (MTTS) allows 1-12 or more players to play table tennis with exciting new game configurations. With reduced waiting times, greater shot range and fairer scoring system satisfying the players to the tee, the system also allows players to retrofit conventional TT tables to be made into ‘Triples’. Officially launched at 10th ITTF Sports Science Congress during World Championships, Zagreb, the prototype system has already won an international patent and we’re optimistic that one of these will make it to your local sports store very soon.
