Visual and hearing impaired always remain aloof of a glance or a fascinating dialogue from a motion picture. But with this new technology dubbed the Mo Pix, these unprivileged can ingest a hope of having their curse flipped, at least when it comes to visiting theaters for a movie. The portable Mo Pix system, coming to the State Theater in Traverse City, will revolutionize the concept of movie viewing for the visually impaired, by narrating the scenes from a movie, and by sub-titling the dialogues for the benefit of the ones who cannot hear.

The Mo Pix is a highly personal system, which lets the user access its benefit only to him, thus interfering in no other person’s pleasure. For the hearing impaired the system displays reversed text on a LED display mounted in the rear of the theater, which the concerned users can see on the transparent acrylic panels attached to their seats. While for the blind viewers the Mo Pix delivers scene narration through an infra-red listening system straight to the listener’s earphones.
