Mitsubishi opens 567ft high elevator testing tower
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has opened a 567ft high elevator testing tower 'Solae' in Japan. The Inazawa City holds this prestigious building, which will be used to conduct research into high-speed elevators for super-tall buildings. The total amount behind this project touches a 5bn-yen or $50m mark. The company wishes to test new drives, gears, cables and other lift systems, which will be required to move up and down in next-gen skyscrapers.

The vogue for sky-touching buildings is not bound to a particular place, but cities such as Dubai, Shanghai, Moscow and Chicago are expected to groom the same concept, which may leave behind the current tallest building, the Taipei 101 (508m; 1,666ft). Similarly, at London Bridge station, Shard, a 310m (1,017ft) building, is preparing to become the tallest in Europe.
