Most consumers aren’t really into technology, and when they buy something, they expect the company or the manufacturer to take the responsibility of configuring or doing the ‘setup’. It might result either from laziness or lack of interest or even ignorance. Nevertheless, there sure is a huge demand for gadgets that don’t need you to think anything beyond the operation manual. Mitsubishi’s new LCD TV is a step in this direction. The LT-46149 and LT-52149 LCDs come with integrated 16 speaker sound projectors and all you have to do is plug the TV to a socket, and forget about any other extra work. The Integrated Sound Projector (ISP) bounces off sound from walls and creates an illusion of surround effect. And no, you don’t need to keep the speakers in strategic locations to get that desired effect. The TV has a CableCard and supports sound over HDMI and PCM inputs. The 46” and 52” LCDs cost $3,299 and $3,699, respectively.
