Yes, you may have the best display at home, but let’s face it; it’s a stagnant unit that cannot be altered in size. But the scenario will not be the same with the new modular OLED display from Mitsubishi. This modular display can be formed into any size by combining square display OLED blocks of 384 millimeters together. Each OLED block has a resolution of 128 pixels by 128 pixels, which add up to nth number of pixels when the blocks are built up together, thus expected to be viewed from about 2 meters distance.

The Mitsubishi’s OLED display to be shown at the year’s Ceatec, will be up on sale worldwide beginning September 21. Mitsubishi showed-off a 155-inch screen built by these blocks in 2009 and similar or even bigger detachable screen can be expected in public places and in stadia soon.
