Mitsubishi has launched an LCD TV that is deemed to be ultra thin—as thin as 40mm. The new TV uses uncompressed wireless communications to transmit video signals. This happens between the display and the tuner. The communication distance, being 30m, is sufficient for indoor use. It makes use of the Wireless High-Definition Interface, which is being developed by Amimon Ltd. of Israel. The company has also developed an optical fiber unit to connect the TV with a Blu-ray or HDD recorder. The 46″ and the 40″ models cost $3642 and $2732 respectively. There also are middle and lower end products, which consist of the MXW series. The ATL, which features a 19-inch model, is equipped with ‘Auto Tilt’ and the MZW and MXW have ‘Auto Turn’ features.
