Imagine a scenario where you do not ever have to replace your batteries. Cannot believe? Nevertheless, you have to, as researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology do not make castles in the sky. Keeping in the mind the power requirements of future portable devices, MIT is developing hi-tech super batteries coupling capacitors with nanotechnology.

The future batteries in the making charge faster and last longer as capacitors store a massive amount of energy in the form of electrically charged particles created by nanotube electrodes. The batteries can be recharged thousands of times without any wear and tear. The new super batteries could also be used in hybrid cars.
