It’s known that wounds heal faster with a process of suction on the wound sealed tightly under bandage. Because this technique isn’t readily available, student Danielle Zurovcik at MIT, under the guidance of Dr Robert Sheridan from Massachusetts General Hospital, has invented hand powered suction device that makes the wound healing process faster by applying negative pressure which draws bacteria and fluid away from a wound. The $3 cylindrical-shaped device has been field tested, including in areas of Haiti.
