Mini 100e notebook marks HP’s foray into educational notebooks

HP’s Mini 100e is sturdier version of existing notebook series. Priced at $299.00, it comes with 10-inch matte screen, a spill resistant keyboard and a LED indicator on the back lid, indicating to the teachers about the online availability of the kids. In addition to this it has modem, Ethernet, optional 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Atom N455 CPU, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM, a 160GB hard drive and you can choose from the lineup of Windows 7 Starter, XP and SUSE Linux Enterprise 11. It has various programs, which have been pre-installed, like Microsoft Office Starter or even a basic PDF reader and can either run on three or six cell battery. With a wide keyboard and a track-pad larger than other notebooks, HP’s foray into educational notebooks has definitely been done with a bang. Weighing at 3.2 pounds, it will only be sold for institutional purposes and is expected to be available from July.
