Microsoft unveils social networking phones, Kin One and Kin Two

Microsoft revealed its long awaited duo of social phones, which borrow their facets from everything from Palm Pre to iPhone and from Zune to Windows Phone 7. The two handsets, dubbed the Kin One and the Kin Two, both feature sliding QWERTY keyboards and capacitive touchscreen displays. Made especially for social networking enthusiasts, these Microsoft phones plug straight into social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Windows Live and Twitter on which, using the phones home-screen called Loop, the users can instantly share images, videos, songs and more with friends on their social friend lists.

The Kin One with LED flash enabled 5MP camera and 4GB of non-extendable storage features a squircle-shaped slider and 320×240 capacitive touchscreen. Kin Two however with LED flash enabled 8MP camera and 8GB non-expandable storage, features 480×320 screen capacitive touchscreen offering 720p video recording facility. Both handsets run Nvidia’s Tegra and use cloud to back up all photos, videos and messages since the phones don’t support memory cards. There’s no word on the pricing yet but you can expect the Kin One and Kin Two arrive on Verizon in May.
