After recently revealing Menlo, Microsoft Research, which has suddenly become the most talked of manufacturing unit, has revealed the Microsoft ”RearType” – prototype tablet with a split QWERTY keyboard built onto its back. Great creation for people who find it difficult to type on the touchscreen, or haven’t gotten over the physical keyboards but desire a tablet, this tablet which has a keyboard split out into two and stuck on the rear sides of the tablet to facilitate typing, will surely be a worthy purchase. The user’s required to hold the tablet on the sides with the thumbs, thus having the fingers free to type using the keys. This facility would also allow for faster text entry any where anytime, without blocking screen visibility, or requiring a stable surface, which can be a problem while typing on the touchscreen tablets. We’ll take a long time to adapt to this new way of typing, but RearType idea is certain one with enough credentials.
