Since the Zune HD grapevine pepped with its photo leak, we were waiting for it to go official, and it was just yesterday that Microsoft actually confirmed that the Zune HD existed, and that the iPod is soon gonna find a worthy competitor. A host of functionalities that have been added in the music player outrightly confirm that the Zune HD will be a definite revelation in the portable music industry. The Zune along with the much hyped portable HD will feature a 3.3-inch, 480×272 OLED multi touch screen.
Using Wi-Fi for all web browsing facilities, the Zune HD is based on the Windows CE and could find Microsoft replacing the Xbox Video Marketplace with a Zune-based video service. Whether the video’s will function or will the Zune HD play games, isn’t actually confirmed, but there is a hint of the touchscreen-specific games which could be detailed in the E3. The music player could find itself shipping in the North America and the Europe sometime in the Q4.
