Meritech may export car-use mobile TV set-top-box with film-type antenna
Meritech has started shipping its fully equipped car-use digital 1-seg set-top-box 'NEONE DT10000' to Japan's market through Intertech Company, one of the leading set top box providers in the Japanese scenario. Its fully functional external antenna supports 'auto gain control' functionality for improved reception in both areas that generate strong magnetic fields as well as weak magnetic fields, this gain control function enhances the Gain of the signal which is actually the output in comparison to the input of the signal being received. Another film-type active magnetic antenna, which is actually a pretty good invention I would say, is very easy to install; all you have to do is just attach it to your car window panel. Suggested price is 28,000 yen.
According to its manufacturers and its distrbutors, the NEONE DT10000 is the smallest in size among car-use 1-seg set-top-box available in Japan. The company also campaigns to provide a 3.5-inch dedicated portable 1-seg device to the market through Bluedot Company. Only drawback, is the attention of the driver it would attract.
