Small gadgets have got smaller and every company today lays claim to ‘the world’s smallest’ tag. Therefore, the only way a manufacturer can outrun competition is by introducing an ‘edge’ in a particular aspect. Ubana’s uCan mp3 player for swimmers is purportedly different ‘coz it is compact. Well, haven’t we heard this before. But wait.....this slick mp3 player is perhaps the lightest among contemporaries. If we have to go by appearances, the uCan should allow swimmers to do their laps without having to bother about an unwieldy plastic bit on their head. And if they ever drop it, the mp3 player would float to the surface for ‘easy retrieval’. Now, we are talking business. The differentiators aside, the uCan has 1GB of built-in memory and can play music non-stop for 15 hours. The player is water-proof for up to 10 feet, which sounds quite reasonable for a ’surface-dweller’ like me.
