MediaTek Inc., a dedicated designer of silicon chips for wireless communications, has brought out a sophisticated wireless combo chip dubbed the MediaTek MT6620. The chip amazingly puts together four major connectivity solutions; Bluetooth 4.0+HS, Wi-Fi 802.11n, GPS and FM transmitter. Intelligent integration of the four most-wanted wireless solutions in a chip results in small footprint and better battery consumption.

The 4-in-1 wireless solutions chip can be properly slotted in the PCBs of smartphones, tablets, gaming devices, music players, navigation devices and several other portable products for better results. Thanks to its small size and footprint, product manufactures may largely prefer MediaTek MT6620 to individual chips for those features in future.
MediaTek claims its combo chip with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and FM transmitter will augment performance of the portable devices. The chip will not gulp down much battery backup of a device since a single chip is required instead of four separate chips. Superior performance of the MediaTek MT6620 has been touted as another major feature of the chip.
The MT6620 wireless combo chip runs the MediaTek Symphony, which will support revamped wireless features of Andorid OS. Therefore, the chip will be a perfect alternative for Andorid devices. The pre-installed BlueAngel Bluetooth will make the chip capable to support 15 profiles at a time.
Amazingly, the MT6620 wireless combo chip supports all top standards of its four capabilities. Bluetooth 4.0+HS is there along with dual mode Bluetooth technologies - Bluetooth BR/EDR/HS and BLE. The Wi-Fi 802.11n of the chip features 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Global Positioning System.
