Making calls form iPad: PhoneItiPad hack turns iPad 3G into a Phone

iPhoneIslam, a popular Jailbreak community company, has devised another application to completely turn around your Apple iPad 3G experience. PhoneitiPad, the new application produced by the company, transforms your iPad 3G into a functional phone, complete with call and SMS exchanges.

Accessing internet and other 3G services comes quite easy with the iPad 3G but making calls was still a foray not achieved by the device until PhoneitiPad did it. The company that earlier added FaceTime, to rejuvenate the iPhone 3GS experience, has established a benchmark in jailbreaking community with this application.

Getting the application is as uncomplicated process as the application itself. The only resource required to grab hold of the splendid application is a Jailbroken iPad working on iOS 4.3.3 and a workable SIM card, probably the one which you used for connecting to

3G services.

Once geared up with all the resources, the primary step would be to jot down the Unique Mobile Identifier or ICCID which can be spotted in the ‘General’ sub option of ‘Settings’ menu. The next lead would be to purchase the license from the iPhoneislam company and then feed to the ICCID. Once done with the data feeding, the next step would be open Cydia and install PhoneitiPad application. And voila! Now you have the facility to call and message from your iPad.

Although being a ground breaking application, it is not designed to work on iOS 5 and would essentially require jailbreaking of the device. This, obviously, makes Apple weary of the application. Thereby, not associating with it and advising the users to have a basic hang of restoring their iPads.
