Freaking awesome guided missile made from a simple rocket kit
Sophisticated artillery used by nations to guard their territories on the ground and in the air amaze us all. Surely a DIY’er can’t achieve the kind of precision or technology used in modern warfare, but hackers Navic and [K.o.D] made their own guided missile that is worth appreciating. The rocket is powered by an Arduino breadboard controller and 2-axis accelerometer for sensing the flight path aided by 4 micro servo fins that control the balsa fins. The duo picked up a simple rocket kit from a local hobby store and fitted it with components mentioned above to turn it into a self-guided missile. As of now the DIY rocket guidance is limited to 3seconds but it will increase considerably once it is fine tuned for improvements.take a jump for the videos.
