Brand new MagPul entry- FMG9, developed on short notice specifically for the SHOT Show 2008, has won wide acclaim among the press. FMG9 stands for a 9 mm 'Folding Machine Gun'. While its closed, it appears to be a portable radio and has a separable premeditated white light, but it unfolds itself into a submachine gun at the flick of a switch. In order to appreciate FMG9 fully, you really need to see the folding/foldable subgun being opened, closed, and handled (checkout the video after the jump). The glossy little MagPul (or, FMG-9) is a prototype folding 9mm Parabellum (9x19mm NATO ) mini / micro-submachine gun (SMG) that employs a Glock 17 slide and any factory Glock 9mm magazine, including 30-33-rounds of Glock 18 mags. The FMG9 mini-SMG is very efficiently designed and looks like a fully-developed artifact.

The FMG9 certainly deserves a gigantic applause for displaying the rapid design and the development skills in making of this sub-machine gun. As per the latest developments, MagPul has decided to manufacture only a restricted quantity of FMG. Let’s hope that FMG’s functioning matches its elegant looks, that’s what matters more.
