MacBook’s lightness comes from discarding several of the usuals. They do say everything comes at a price. So ultra thin offering of Steve Jobs has ended up sacrificing stuff that laptops are normally crammed up with. But MacBook Air might not stay for too long in the present form. Apple has filed several patents that hint at future changes in this portable baby. One of these is a patent that looks to include the number of ports on the laptop. The Port Patent (lets call it that for the time being) hints at the expansion of the number of ports from existing 4 to 7 or 8. Amongst these is a port for collapsible Ethernet port. There is also a distinct representation of a FireWire and two USB ports. These ports are to be included in such a manner that each of these may work independently of others i.e. a single port may be closed or opened independently of other ports’ positions.

Still there seems to be so many things amiss. As a matter of fact, MacBook Air might be the very first laptops that would be near impossible to operate without a full fledged PC around.
