Interactive displays may have been associated with those figments of sci-fi imagination, confined to the high-budget Hollywood movies; but not anymore now. The total sphere of interactive technology has progressed to a whole new level with a plethora of touch-screen mechanisms, and now making its way to a more 'societal' stage. That's right; interactive walls catering to a greater degree of audiences has always being a collective and entertaining experience. Based upon this concerted idea, Lumen Digital has unveiled their advanced Kiwibank interactive wall, utilizing OpenNI technology.

The technology behind this conception incorporates a full body tracking system (including the limbs -like hand and legs), which allows a multiple number of users to be immersed in a variety of interactive activities, all at the same time. This certainly enhances the degree of user experience both specifically and quantitatively.
The system interface has been designed in such a way so as to cope up with the plural level of processing. On the other hand, the designers have also thought of a simplistic interface that follows an average user's intuition rather than his/her motor capability. This makes normal gestures like sweeps and pushes effective for the corresponding screen activity. But the simple mechanism doesn't hamper complex functions such as maps and way-finding. Moreover, the conception also integrates flexibility of screen size, which ranges from LCD display to a greater area coverage (the scalable character pertaining to the Open Space Technology).
